Second Annual Conference of the Association
of Scholars and Ex- scholars
“Motivation” Presenter: Angela Llanas
(October 5th, 2006)
As part of the activities of the Association of Scholars and
Ex-Scholars, The Anglo Mexican Foundation , organized the
2nd Annual Conference of the Association on the 5th October
2006. The conference was presented by Angela Llanas in The
Aula Magna in Antonio Caso and focused on the topic of : The
‘M’ word in Teaching.
This conference was attended by more than
60 scholars and ex-scholars as well as English teachers from
the Anglo. Angela demonstrated a by means of a series of lively
and entertaining activities and techniques, how teachers can
get their students attention and encourage them to learn English.
By using these enjoyable activities students will be encouraged
to participate and use the target language. In this way, they
will be motivated to learn English almost “without noticing”
that this is happening.
Angela’s presentation was not only
entertaining and informative but also encouraged teachers
to participate in the activities. As a result, the teachers
had fun but were also able to understand the importance of
mixing humor and teaching methodology in order to their students
learn English more effectively. Angela used different activities
such as games, songs and disguises to present a range of techniques
that can be employed to motivate students from primary to
high school levels.
The presentation was a total success and
provided all the teachers who attended with a series of techniques
which they can use to motivate their students and help them
to improve their mastery of English.
